Amy Christie is co-owner of A Plus Insurance, the family-owned brokerage her husband Shawn founded in 2000 in Colorado Springs, CO. Amy joined the brokerage in 2001 and has been a key part of the business ever since, helping offer a wide range of personal and commercial insurance products. Her goal is simple: provide quality coverage at affordable prices, ensuring the diverse needs of their clients are met.

Amy began her insurance career in 1999 at a life insurance brokerage, Eterm.com, where she earned both residential and non-residential insurance licenses across several states. That foundation — multi-state licensing and a customer-first mindset — shaped how she and Shawn would later run A Plus together.

In 2001, she joined Shawn at A Plus Insurance as co-owner. At that point, the brokerage focused on life and health coverage — but in 2002, they expanded into auto insurance, the first of many product lines they would add together over the following years. Her focus, then and now, is to make finding a policy — or changing an existing one — as quick and efficient as possible for the client, in a polite, knowledgeable, and professional manner. Amy understands that people don’t want to spend their day dealing with insurance, and she runs her client work accordingly.

Outside the office, she’s an active member of the community and has been spotted on the local football field helping coach park and recreation teams.

Amy and Shawn share a single goal: make affordable, white-glove insurance service accessible to as many people as possible. That means delivering the kind of personal, hands-on attention usually reserved for high-touch private clients — at prices regular families and small business owners can actually afford.

That goal is what drives A Plus Insurance’s continued expansion. From a life-and-health-focused brokerage in 2000, A Plus has grown into a multi-line operation licensed to write insurance in 35 states across the U.S. The team continues to grow its footprint, carrier relationships, and the technology behind the scenes. Every new state, every new line of coverage, and every new tool is in service of the same idea: more people getting better insurance, more easily, from someone who actually treats them like a person.

Amy and her husband Shawn believe in community impact and are dedicated to giving back by supporting local initiatives and fostering positive change. Through volunteer efforts, donations, and active involvement, they strive to make a meaningful difference where they live and work.
