It pays to quote your insurance out a few days when shopping. Earlier today, we were able to quote a gentleman and his wife for an auto insurance policy that is getting ready to renew in 13 days. They currently have a policy underwritten through Nationwide. This particular client has been with Nationwide for close to 4 years now, and over the past several renewals, the rates have steadily increased. As far as discounts go, we were able to use higher limits of liability 100/300/100, include a homeowners discount, proof of prior insurance – Nationwide, and also include an advanced quote discount. The advanced quote discount gave this client extra savings because we were able to push the effective date out 13 days which saved this client an extra $30 over the course of 6 months. Now that breaks down to only $5.00 savings per month, but it is a savings none the less. Upon reviewing all of the carriers that we work with, Traveler’s insurance proved to be the most cost effective. This particular prospect was paying $150.00 per month for full coverage on a 2003 Ford F150 Super Crew Cab 4X4 Truck, and full coverage on a 2004 Pontiac Grand am GT 2 door coop, and we are able to get a policy in place with the same coverage for $95.03 per month as an automatic payment through a checking account. That means this client qualified for multiple discounts: Married, Home owner, Proof of prior, Higher Liability limits, 3-year violation free, 5-year accident-free, multicar, EFT (electronic funds transfer), and advanced quote. When his homeowner’s policy comes up for renewal, we are also going to see if we can bundle the insurance for an additional discount and save even more!
