Boulder Colorado Insurance Requirements
In every state, liability insurance is required. Liability insurance is coverage that if you are found responsible for an accident, that you are covered when paying the expenses for the other party in the crash.
While Colorado’s car liability requirement limit is 25 / 50 / 25.

This means that you will be required to hold at least :
Bodily Injury | Bodily Injury for Multiple People | Property Damage |
---|---|---|
$25,000 | $50,000 | $15,000 |
As a client, you are always able to increase your liability limits if you wish to do so. Raising liability limits is always recommended since typically accidents that are caused, are in a greater value than what is required.
This means that the remainder of the accident cost after insurance will be needed to be paid in another form, even if it’s out of your own pocket..
Motorcycle Coverages
In addition to liability, there are extra coverages you can add onto your motorcycle insurance Boulder policy.
Coverages can include but are not limited to:
Comprehensive | When damage occurs to the motorcycle from external factors such as theft, vandalism, an animal, tree branch, fire, etc. The carrier will help pay for the cost after you pay your deductible. |
Collision | When damage is done to the motorcycle by colliding with another car or object, whether it was parked or moving during the incident. The carrier will help cover the costs after a deductible is paid first. |
Medical Payments | Helps cover medical expenses when in the case of an accident. |
Roadside Assistance | Helps to cover towing when in the case of your motorcycle breaking down. |
Depending on which carrier that you ultimately go with, they may offer additional types of coverage with the policy. The coverages listed above are pretty standard amongst all carriers when it comes to a motorcycle policy.

In addition, a DUI, and no proof of insurance can be a large factor as well. Getting pulled over for these violations could result in a SR22 filing being required on your policy.

We are all human and mistakes happen. However, due to our mistakes, we do have to pay for the consequences of them. The reason that some of the violations can last up to ten years is to ensure that you will not repeat the same mistake once more.
