North Carolina Teen Driving Laws
Teenagers must be at least 15 years of age in North Carolina in order to go through the first process called graduated licensing before receiving full driving privileges in North Carolina. There are very strict requirements for young drivers who are going through the graduated licensing which is necessary in order to provide young drivers with on the road experience.
In order to be able to complete the graduated licensing, drivers must first complete a Drivers Education Course, along with a Driver Eligibility Certificate. Once those 2 things are completed, drivers of at least 15 years old can then apply for a North Carolina Graduated License at your local DMV.
Documents required – Social Security card, North Carolina Residency, Document verifying identity and date or birth.
